2020 Ski Week Event
Celebrate Winter with Our Ski Week Event at Irvine Subaru
March 1st - 15th, 2020
Ski season is in full swing, so we're having a Ski Week Event here at Irvine Subaru! Now is a great time to pack up your Subaru and take your family on a snowy mountain adventure, and you can count on our team to help. Here you'll find some tips and tricks for a successful and safe winter getaway in your Subaru this season!
Winter Driving Tips
The first step to any great adventure is getting to your destination safely, which is why it's important to exercise extra caution when traversing snowy roads. So, if you meet some harsh road conditions along the way to the slopes, we hope you'll take these tips to heart:
- Take it slow: When the roads are slippery, you'll have more difficulty getting traction. Slow down to maintain control.
- Increase following distance: Stopping is harder when the roads are snowy, so be sure to leave some extra room between you and the car in front of you just in case you can't stop as quickly as you expect.
- Don't overdo it on hills: Accelerating on snow-covered hills is likely to just make your wheels spin. Instead, aim to get some inertia built up to carry you up the hill, then take it slow on the way down.
Tips to Prepare Your Subaru for a Snowy Mountain Drive
Subaru models make excellent companions for winter adventures thanks to features like standard AWD and high ground clearance. Still, you can give your Subaru even more of an edge with these tips:
- Winter tires: Having a good set of winter tires on your Subaru can help you gain the traction you need for a safer drive up and down the mountain.
- Subaru accessories: If you need accessories like roof racks or ski racks to help your Subaru handle all your adventuring gear, we can help you find what you need.
- Battery check: Nothing puts a damper on a winter adventure quite like a dead car battery. We can test your battery before your next journey to give you peace of mind.
